Mueller was the former Robert Mueller Municipal Airport.  Then, in 2005, construction began for this mixed-use urban village that Natural Homes magazine called one of its "Top Ten Green Housing Developments".  It's located east of I-35 between East 51st Street to the north, Anchor Lane and Manor Road to the south, Manor Road to the east, and I-35/Airport Blvd. to the west. The award-winning 711 acre, mater-planned community contains 4,600 single-family and multi-family homes, many of which are reserved for families who qualify for affordable housing. There are a range of housing choices: custom homes, urban-style row houses, European- style live/work homes built above retail space, rental apartments and condos. Mueller features 140 acres of parks and greenways, a town center with cafes and shops, a community pool, extensive hike and bike trials, two dedicated employment centers, and a community center. It's also home to the Austin Film Studios, Dell Children's Medical Center, a new HEB grocery store and the UT Medical Research Campus. Plans are underway to add a Residence Inn, additional housing, the Austin Playhouse, and the Austin Children's Museum.  Mueller is in the 78723 zip code and is served by Austin ISD.
